Thanks Ashmark. My daughter now says "I can hear you but I don't know what you are saying" when she doesn't understand something. She does not need tubes, fortunately. Her ears have been clear of fluid for almost a year now. I am very glad that she realizes her hearing is different and that she asks if she doesn't understand. That's a hard thing for anyone to do. Speech is going very well, and she does fine with understanding as long as we are looking at her, or she is looking at the speaker. If we are behind her, it's 50/50 on if she will understand and respond to what we say.
