Hi. I really hope someone on this board can help me with a problem I'm having. The year I was born, my mom and dad sewed a stocking for me. This stocking has felt applique's and beads and sequins that come together to create a cute scene of Santa decorating a tree while two children have snuck downstairs to see him. I have just gotten married this year, and I think it would be really neat if I could make my new husband a beaded stocking similar to mine...I am trying to start our holiday traditions early in our marriage...
Anyhow, I have asked my mom how she made the stocking, and it was a kit that had the plain stocking, the patterns, appliques and beads all packaged together. I also had a great aunt who used to make these beaded christmas decorations on everything...stockings, tree skirts, etc. and she used kits also. However, I cannot find ANYTHING like this. Is this one of those "vintage" projects that has disappeared? I really need someone to help me find a kit like these quickly, so that I can surprise my husband for the holiday season. I have asked every craft/fabric store in my area, and am now scouring the Internet, hoping one of you has a thought or resource.
