Butter Cookies

cream till fluffy:
1/2 c butter, softened
1/2c sugar


1 egg
1t vanilla
3/4c flour
(lemon or orange ring or poppy seeds for flavor. Optional)

Drop small amount from spoon onto greased cookie sheet.
Bake at 375 for 5-7 minutes or till edges are brown.
refrigerate dough roll into a thin cylinder and slice thin wafers or roll into small balls and flatten with a floured spoon before baking

Caution: these cookies are small, light and yummy, and not too sweet, you will be tempted to eat them as fast as they cool!

this recipe makes those thin, butter cookies with the paper thin, crisp brown edges.
