When I cook a roast I put it in a large roasting pan with potatoes, carrots and I quarter a head of cabbage.
I mix 2 cans or more of Cream of Mushroom soup and 1-2 pkgs. of lipton onion soup mix and about 2-3 cans of water.
I add salt and pepper and pour this over the roast and vegetables.
Then cook slowly until roast and vegetables are done.
It makes its own gravy and it is wonderful.
