Chocolate Syrup Brownies

1/2 c butter
1 c sugar
3 eggs
pinch salt
1 c all purpose flour
3/4 c chocolate syrup
2 tsp vanilla
3/4 c chopped nuts (optional)

mix butter, sugar and eggs till well blended, add salt, mix in flour. add syrup, vanilla and nuts, mix.
bake in 9inch square pan at 350oF for 35 minute or until toothpick comes out clean.
Cool on rack, loosen edges from pan.
Cut into squares or just eat with spoon right out of the pan, try not to burn your fingers.

These are great for when you are craving brownies but the only chocolate in the house is Hershey's syrup.
They aren't typical, they are rather chewy, and not too heavy.
