Has anyone ever heard of this? I have a teen, age 17, who sucks her thumb almost constantly when she's home and always when asleep. She does it with her friends but controls herself well in public or at school, where she is an "A" student and is very active. Her dentist can't do a thing about her teeth unless she stop. Her teeth have a space in them, when she closes her mouth, that could easily fit her thumb, not to mention the fact that they're bucked out so that they're always visible. She refuses to receive help, telling me that she "loves" her thumb and her teeth make it more enjoyable (!). I'm at my wit's end. Please answer, also, at my email addess since I don't often "surf".
