SPRITZ COOKIES
1½ cups butter 3 sticks
1 cup sugar
1 egg
2 tbls. milk
1 tsp. salt
1 pkg. jello, any flavor
1 tsp. vanilla
½ tsp.almond flavoring, depends on the jello
flavor
4 cups flour
1 tsp. baking powder
Thoroughly cream butter and sugar. Add egg, milk, jello, & flavorings-beat well. Stir flour, salt & baking powder together; gradually add to creamed mixture, mixing to make a smooth dough. DO NOT CHILL.
Place dough into cookie press and press cookies onto a chilled ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake in pre-heated oven, 400º, for 6-8 minutes. Remove cookies from sheet and cool on rack. Yield 6 dozen cookies.Sprinkles of any kind or color can be used to decorate before baking. A cookie press or gun is a necessity.
