APPLESAUCE CANDY

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1 c. applesauce
1 c. sugar
1 pkg. fruit gelatin
3/4 c. nuts, finely chopped
(optional)

Combine applesauce and sugar in saucepan. Bring to a
boil and cook 2 minutes. Dissolve gelatin in applesauce. Add
nuts. Pour into 8 x 8-inch pan.
After 24 hours or more, cut into 1-inch squares and roll
in sugar. Roll in sugar a second time 24 hours later and it's
ready to eat.

**Leave out the gelatin and pour over cake, if using for icing.
