Applesauce Cake

1 ½ - cups all-purpose flour, sifted

¾ - teaspoon baking powder

½ - teaspoon baking soda

1 - teaspoon salt

1 - teaspoon cinnamon

½ - teaspoon nutmeg

¼ - teaspoon cloves

½ - cup butter

¼ - cup peanut butter

1 - cup sugar

2 – eggs

2 - cups applesauce

Preheat oven 350 degrees

Grease the cake pan with shortening and dust with flour to coat.

In a bowl, sift the flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves.

In another large mixing bowl, you want to cream butter with the peanut butter and sugar. Beat in eggs (one at a time). Cut your flour mixture into fourths and add ¼ flour mixture into mixing bowl. Then add ½ cup of applesauce. Then add the next quarter flour mixture. Follow it by adding another ½ cup of applesauce. Alternate this until all flour and applesauce is in mixing bowl. Mix until smooth about two minutes.

Pour into cake pan and bake 45 to 50 minutes.

Picnicking & Tailgating: Wrap in plastic wrap and store in your picnic basket. Applesauce Cake is a dessert everyone is sure to enjoy.

Make 6 to 8 servings.
