Grandmom's Poorman's Cake

2 c. sugar
2 c. hot water
1 box raisins
3 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. salt
2 Tbsp. Crisco
3 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda

Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.

Place sugar in large pan, add water, raisins, cinnamon
and salt. Bring to a boil. Add Crisco, stir well and boil
for five minutes. Set aside to cool.

To cooled mixture, add flour and baking soda. Stir well.
Divide batter into two portions. Place batter into two
small greased and floured loaf pans.

Bake for 1 hour, until no longer sticky to touch.
