YANKIE POT ROAST

3 to 4 lb. chuck roast
5 medium carrots
5 medium potatoes
1 large onion
garlic powder (pinch)
pinch of salt
pinch of pepper
2 Tbsp. Crisco
3 Tbsp. flour

Place pot roast in about 2 tablespoons of Crisco in
roasting pan and place in oven at 450 degrees to brown for 1/2 hour.
Sprinkle with garlic powder, salt and pepper. Add water to
cover meat and cover roasting pan and turn oven to 325 degrees. Cook
for 2 hours. Add potatoes, carrots and onion. Add enough water
again to cover all ingredients. Cover and cook another 2
hours. Make a paste from flour and water. Add to juice to make
gravy.

YANKIE POT ROAST

1 large rum proast
1 tsp. garlic powder
1 large onion, diced
2 lb. carrots
6 large potatoes
6 c. water

Sear or brown meat in pan with salt and pepper. Add
water, onion, quartered potatoes and carrots. Let cook 1 hour
(after water boils) on low.
