This is my husband's favorite dessert. Thought some of you might like to try it. Very simple, and very delicious!
Cherry Trifle:
1 cup confectioners' sugar
3 oz. cream cheese, softened
8 oz. non-dairy whipped topping
1/2 cup coarsely chopped walnuts or pecans
5 cups angel food cake cubes
1 can cherry pie filling.

In large bowl, beat sugar and cheese thoroughly. Fold in whipped topping and nuts. Mix thoroughly then fold mixture into the cake cubes. Spoon into about a 2 qt. bowl or jello mold. Spread pie filling over top. Refrigerate until chilled really good - about 3 hrs.

Everyone I serve this to asks for the recipe!
Tip: I like to toast the pecans or walnuts with a tad of butter. I love the taste of toasted nuts and it does add to the flavor - but is not a necessary step.
