FOURTH OF JULY BAKED BEANS

1/2 c. chopped onion
1/4 c. chopped green pepper
2 (16 oz. or 18 oz.) cans
baked beans
3/4 c. brown sugar
1 tsp. dry mustard
1/2 c. catsup
2 Tbsp. molasses
6 slices bacon
1 Tbsp. oil

Saute onion and pepper in oil until tender. Combine in
large casserole the beans, brown sugar, dry mustard, catsup,
molasses, onion and green pepper. Mix well and top with bacon
slices. Bake at 325 degrees for 2 1/4 hours.
Great for all picnics!

FOURTH OF JULY PIE

2 pie shells, baked
8 oz. cream cheese
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. heavy cream
1 can blueberry pie filling
strawberries, as needed

Soften cream cheese and beat with 3/4 cup sugar and
vanilla. Beat cream and 1/4 cup sugar until thick; fold into
cheese mixture. Pour into cooled pie shells. Make a well in
the middle and pour 1/2 can blueberries into each. Decorate
outer edge with strawberries.

SNOWBALLS FOR JULY

1/2 c. butter or margarine
3/4 c. granulated sugar
2 c. Bisquick baking mix
1/2 c. chopped nuts
1/2 tsp. almond extract
confectioners sugar

Cream butter. Add granulated sugar. Stir in baking
mix, nuts and almond extract. Shape dough by level teaspoons
into balls. Place on ungreased baking sheet. Cool slightly
before removing from cookie sheet. Roll in confectioners
sugar. Bake in 375 degrees oven for 10 to 12 minutes.

JULY 4TH DANDY

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1/4 c. salted peanuts
4 large bananas
4 1/2 oz. frozen whipped
topping, thawed
12 maraschino cherries

Chop up the peanuts. Wash bananas and slit each one
lengthwise with a sharp knife. Cut to 1-inch on each end. With
your scissors cut away 1/2-inch of the peel along each side of
the slit. Empty the topping in a bowl. Carefully scoop out
the banana. Save the peels; gently mix the banana pieces into
the whipped topping. Fill each banana peel with an equal
amount of mixture. Sprinkle chopped nuts on top. After
topping each with 3 cherries in a row, decorate them with
toothpick flags of your own design.
