Snickerdoodles

3 3/4 cups all purpose flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
1 cup butter or margarine
2 cups sugar
2 eggs
1/4 cup milk
1 tsp. vanilla
3 tbls. sugar
1 tsp. ground cinnamon

Directions:

Grease a cookie sheet. Stir together flour, soda, cream of tartar, and 1/2 tsp. salt. Beat butter for 30 seconds; add the 2 cups sugar and beat till fluffy. Add eggs, milk and vanilla; beat well. Add dry ingredients to beaten mixture, beating till well combined. Form dough into 1 inch balls; roll in a mixture of the 3 tbls. sugar and the cinnamon. Place the balls 2 inches apart on a cookie sheet; flatten slightly with the bottom of a drinking glass. Bake at 375 degree oven about 8 minutes or till light golden. Makes about 66.

Snickerdoodle Cookies

1 cup margarine
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
3/4 cup granulated sugar
2 eggs, beaten
2 cups sifted flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 1/2 cup oatmeal

Directions:

Cream margarine, brown sugar and granulated sugar. Add eggs. Combine flour, salt, baking soda and cinnamon; add to margarine mixture. Stir in oatmeal. Form dough in 1 inch balls and roll in cinnamon sugar. Bake at 400 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes.
