Walnut Frosty Cookies

2 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup butter
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla

Topping:
1 cup chopped walnuts
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup sour cream

Sift together dry ingredients. Cream brown sugar and butter. Add egg and vanilla. Cream again.
Add dry ingredients. Mix till blended. Form into 1 inch balls, make a depression in center, place 2 inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet.
Mix together topping ingredients. Place topping in depressions. Bake at 350F for 12-14 minutes.

Walnut Frostie Bars
List of Ingredients
1 cup flour (for crust)
2 tablespoons powdered sugar
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
2 eggs
1 cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1 cup coarsley chopped walnuts
1/2 cup flaked coconut

Frosting:
1 cup powdered sugar
4 teaspoons butter, softened
1 tablespoon orange juice
1/4 teaspoon grated orange peel
36 walnut halves


Recipe
Combine 1 cup flour and powdered sugar in medium bowl. Cream in butter. Pat firmly and evenly into bottom of 9x9x3 inch baking pan. Bake in 350 degrees oven for 10-15 minutes, remove and cool on rack for 5 minutes.

Beat eggs in medium bowl, stir in brown sugar till well blended, then add 2 tablespoons of flour, salt and baking powder. Fold in walnuts and coconut, pour over crust. Bake 20-25 minutes or till top is firm. Cool in pan.

Combine frosting ingredients in mixing bowl; till smooth. Frost bars, making a thin layer of frosting. When frosting is set cut into 36 bars; top with a walnut half. Makes 36 bars.
