REC Chocolate-chip cookies: These are the best!!

This has to be followed exactly for extraordinary cookies....

4 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cream of tartar
1 cup butter, at room temperature (real butter only)
1 cup light brown sugar
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup of vegetable oil, preferably Wesson
1 tsp. milk
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 egg, lightly beaten
1 bag (12oz ) chocolate chips
1 cup chopped walnuts


Preheat over to 350 F.

Sift together first 4 ingredients; set aside.
In large bowl with mixer at high speed beat butter until smooth. Add sugars and beat until combined. Reduce speed to medium; beat in next 4 ingredients until combined. Reduce speed to low; beat in flour mixture until combined. Stir in chocolate chips and walnuts. Drop by 2 tablespoonfuls, 2" apart onto ungreased baking sheets. Bake 15 minutes. Cool in pans on rack 1 minute. Whit spatula carefully remove from pans; cool completely on racks.
