Taffy

2 l/2 c. sugar
3/4 c. Karo syrup
l/2 c. water
2 Tbl. butter
l/2 tsp. vanilla

Combine sugar, Karo and water. Cook to firm ball stage. Add butter and cook to hard ball stage. Pour into buttered pan and cool until it can be taken into buttered hands for pulling. Pull taffy until it is very firm and has a satin finish. Add vanilla and pull into l/2" rolls. Cut with scissors.
