Kraft Mac & Cheese


2 MINUTE FUDGE (KIDS COOK)
(Microwave)

1 (1 lb.) box powdered sugar
1/2 c. unsweetened cocoa
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 c. minus 1 tsp. milk
1 Tbsp. vanilla
1/2 c. butter or margarine

In a 1 1/2-quart casserole, stir together sugar, cocoa,
salt, milk and vanilla until partially blended. Put butter or
margarine over top in center of dish. Microwave on High power
2 minutes. Stir well until smooth. Pour into a greased 8-inch
square dish. Chill about 1 hour. Makes about 36 squares.

PLAY DOE COOKIES

1/2 c. butter or margarine
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1/4 c. milk
1/2 tsp. vanilla
2 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 clean kid
1 clean table
food coloring (yellow, red,
green and blue)

Cream together sugar and butter. Add egg, milk and
vanilla; beat well. Stir together the flour, baking powder and
salt. Add to creamed mixture and beat until blended. Divide
dough in several parts. Add food coloring to each part. Now
take 1 clean kid or kids and use clean table to start. Have
flour sprinkled on table. Let children use cutters or make
their own shapes out of the dough. Because the dough is
colored, it doesn't need to be frosted once baked. Kids have a
great time!

LITTLETOWN FARM CARROT COOKIES FOR KIDS

5 carrots
3/4 c. water (more if carrots
go dry)
salt
1 c. unbleached white flour
1 c. whole wheat flour
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/8 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. soft shortening
1/2 c. butter or margarine
1 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
1 c. raisins

Wash and peel carrots. Cut them into 1/4-inch round
slices. Measure 1 1/2 cups carrot slices; put them in small
saucepan. Add 3/4 cup water and pinch of salt. Cover; cook 15
to 20 minutes over medium heat until tender. Drain water.
Heat oven to 400 degrees. Mix dry ingredients together in mixing
bowl. Put cooked carrots in another mixing bowl and mash. Add
shortening, butter and brown sugar and mix well. Beat in 2
eggs. Add dry ingredients to carrot mixture and stir until
blended. Stir in raisins. Grease cookie sheet. Drop by
spoonful 2-inches apart. Bake 8 to 10 minutes. Makes 4 dozen
cookies.

KIDS SNACK

2 whole graham crackers
2 Tbsp. peanut butter
2 large marshmallows
2 Hershey candy kisses

Spread peanut butter on 1 graham cracker. Space marsh-
mallow down with spoon. Insert candy kisses into marshmallow;
cover with graham cracker. Wrap in white paper towel. Micro-
wave on High 1 minute. Let stand 2 minutes before unwrapping.
Serve with a glass of milk. Serve 1 child.

PEANUT BUTTER PORCUPINES FOR KIDS

1/2 c. peanut butter
1/2 c. honey (or less to
taste)
1 c. toasted wheat germ
3/4 c. raisins
coconut

Optional:
sunflower seeds
peanuts
1/2 c. cocoa powder

Mix ingredients and roll into balls. Then roll in
coconut. Refrigerate until firm. Recipe keeps well in the
freezer.

FUNNEL CAKE
(Serves 6)

1 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
2 Tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. soda
3/4 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1 egg
3/4 c. milk
vegetable oil
2 tsp. powdered sugar
syrup

Combine dry ingredients; add egg and milk, beating until
smooth. Heat 1/4-inch oil to 375 degrees in a skillet. Cover bottom
of a funnel with finger. (Funnel with an opening of at least
3/8-inch works best.) Pour 1/4 cup batter into funnel. Hold
funnel over center of skillet. Remove finger from funnel end
to release batter into hot oil; move funnel in a slow circular
motion to form a spiral or other design. (Great fun for kids
and teens; writes kids names with funnel.)
Fry 2 minutes or until golden brown, turning once.
Drain on paper towels. Sprinkle with powdered sugar; serve hot
with syrup.

CANDY FOR KIDS
(Peanut Butter Clusters)

1 c. chunky peanut butter
1 pkg. peanut butter chips

Melt in double boiler. Stir in 4 1/2 cups corn flakes.
Drop on wax paper covered cookie sheet and refrigerate. When
hardened, put in container and keep in refrigerator.

ARTY-PARTY
(Especially for Kids)
Kids can paint pet rocks or even hard boiled eggs. Be
sure to prepare for a fun "mess", though.
Ladybug Cake: Heat oven to 300 degrees. Grease and flour 1
1/2 quart round baking dish. Prepare Betty Crocker pound cake
as directed on package except pour batter into baking dish.
Bake 1 hour 5 to 10 minutes, or until wooden pick inserted in
center of cake comes out clean. Cool cake 10 minutes; remove
from dish. Prepare Betty Crocker fluffy white frosting mix as
directed on package. Place cake flat side down on serving
plate or tray. Frost cake. Make face on one side of cake
using black gumdrop slices for eyes, red gumdrop slice for
nose, red shoestring licorice for mouth and black shoestring
licorice for eyebrows and antennae. For colored shell of
ladybug, sprinkle red sugar over cake about 2 inches from
curved edge of face. Place black gumdrop slices for spots on
shell; use black shoestring licorice for stripe across center
of shell.

NO COOK CANDY FOR KIDS

1 c. skim milk powder
1 c. peanut butter (natural
ground peanuts)
1 c. honey
1 c. wheat germ, toasted

Mix all ingredients in mixing bowl. Shape into small
round balls and place in storage container, separating layers
with wax paper. Keep in refrigerator for wholesome after
school snacks and energy sustainers.

KIDS BANANA PUDDING

1. Mash 1/2 small banana.
2. Add 3 tablespoons applesauce.
3. Stir in 1 teaspoon plain yogurt.
4. Eat.
Note: Use a very ripe banana.

COVERED WAGONS

1 can biscuits
10 cheese cubes
10 ham cubes

Roll out biscuit and place cheese and ham cubes in each
biscuit. Fold over and close around edges with fork. Cook at
300 degrees until biscuits are brown. Great snack for kids. Easy for
kids to make.

HONEYBEES

1/2 c. peanut butter
1 Tbsp. honey
1/2 c. nonfat dry milk powder
2 Tbsp. sesame seed
2 Tbsp. toasted wheat germ
unsweetened cocoa powder
sliced almonds

In mixing bowl, use a wooden spoon to mix the peanut
butter and honey. Stir in the dry milk powder, sesame seed and
wheat germ until well mixed. Lay waxed paper on a baking
sheet. Using a teaspoon at a time, shape the peanut butter
mixture into ovals to look like bees. Put on baking sheet.
Dip a toothpick in cocoa powder, then press gently across top
of bees to make strips. Stick in almonds for wings. Chill in
refrigerator 30 minutes. Makes 28.
This snack attracts kids like bees to a blossom. It
keeps kids buzzing around for more.

PUPPY CHOW FOR KIDS

1 stick butter
1 (12 oz.) pkg. chocolate
chips
1 c. peanut butter
1 lb. box powdered sugar
1 (12 1/2 oz.) box Crispix
cereal

Melt together butter, chocolate chips and peanut butter.
Put cereal in large mixing bowl and pour melted mixture into
cereal, stirring carefully. Coat all pieces. Pour coated
cereal into a large grocery bag and add powdered sugar. Shake
sack until all the powdered sugar is absorbed. Store in
covered container. (Try other cereals.)

QUICK FIX HOT DOGS FOR KIDS

1 pkg. Pillsbury crescent
rolls
1 pkg. hot dogs (your choice)
slices of American cheese
mustard
catsup

Open crescent rolls; set aside. Open hot dogs, set
aside. Open American cheese slices, set aside. Center cheese
in middle of one crescent roll, then place hot dog on edge of
cheese rolls. Do this with all remaining rolls, hot dogs and
cheese. Bake in 350 degrees oven until rolls are golden brown. Serve
immediately with mustard and catsup. Makes 8 to 12.

WIENERS AND DIP

1 c. grape jelly
1 pkg. wieners
1 c. mustard

Cook jelly and mustard until well mixed. Cut up wieners
into bite sizes. You may cook separately and then dip into
sauce or put into sauce and let cook. Kids love these wieners,
cooked or dipped in this sauce. It's also ideal for parties.

PEPPERONI PINWHEELS
(Great Snack for Kids)

8 oz. can Pillsbury
refrigerated quick crescent
dinner rolls
1 c. prepared pizza sauce
3 1/2 oz. pkg. (32 slices)
sliced pepperoni
2 oz. (1/2 c.) shredded
Mozzarella cheese

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Bake 18 to 20 minutes. Separate
dough into 4 rectangles; press perforations to seal together.
Place 8 pepperoni slices on each rectangle. Sprinkle with 2
tablespoons cheese. Starting at shortest side "tightly" roll
up each rectangle. Pinch to seal. Slice each roll into four
equal slices. Pinch dough together on one side of each slice
to seal. Place sealed side down on ungreased cookie sheet.
Serve with warm pizza sauce to pour over.
