Mulled Cider
Makes approximately 1 gallon
1 gallon apple cider
3 small apples
1 T. whole cloves
3 star anise
2 three-inch cinnamon sticks
Extra cinnamon sticks for garnish
Place cider in a large heavy pot.
Spike apples with cloves and place in pot.
Add star anise and 2 cinnamon sticks.
Bring liquid to a gentle boil and reduce heat to simmer.
Serve hot with a cinnamon stick in each mug for garnish.
