Freezer Streusel
I make this once or twice a year (doubling or quadrupling the recipe). This way I always have ready-to-use streusel topping for muffins, sour cream coffee cakes, yeasted babkas, or quick breads.
2 cups chopped walnuts
3 cups packed brown sugar
1/2 cup unbleached all purpose flour
2-3 tablespoons cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon fresh nutmeg (optional)
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon vanilla
1 cup very cold, unsalted butter - cut into 16 chunks
Place walnuts, brown sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, and vanilla in work bowl of a food processor (if processor is too small, process half a batch at a time). Pulse briefly to combine. Add butter chunks and process to make a coarse, crumbly mixture.

an airtight package. Label with date and contents.
Store in a dry cool place. Use within 6 months.
Makes 1 package ONION SEASONING MIX. Use this mix
whenever your recipe calls for dry onion soup mix. I
use empty bouillon jars, baby food jars, or those
little gift jelly jars to store this mix in. P.S.

Homemade Taco Seasoning Mix

In storage container with tight-fitting lid, combine all ingredients; mix
well. Seal tightly. Store in cool, dry place for up to 6 months. Makes 21
teaspoons (about 1/2 cup). Seven teaspoons of mix equal a 1.25 oz. pkg. of
purchased taco seasoning mix.
TIPS: Cumin, an herb, is ground from cumin seeds, and there is no
substitute for its flavor. Seven teaspoons mix contains 90mg Sodium.

Breakfast drink
1 Jar (4 oz) lemon flavored
Iced tea mix
1 1/2 c Sugar (or to taste)
2 ts Ground cinnamon
2 ts Ground cloves
1 t Ground ginger
Mix drink mix, tea mix, sugar and spices. Label and
store in tightly covered container at room
temperature. Store no longer than 6 months.
To serve: For each serving, mix 3 teaspoons with
boiling liquid* in mug until mix is dissolved.
Garnish with twist of lemon or orange peel, and a
cinnamon stick if desired.
*Variation: Use cranberry juice, or dry red or white
wine.
Makes 5 1/4 cups of mix.

Combine all dry ingredients, stir in raisins. Keep in ziplock bag or
sealed tupperware in the fridge. * We use dried sweetened cranberries
since hubby hates raisins.
