I too have an Australian Shepherd with the same type problems, even to the extent that she coughs up "phlegm" occasssionally. Of course, some days are worse than others, usually on "Ozone Alert" days in my city. Anything you find out may be helpful for me. My dog has been on several types of medication and had x-rays, to no avail.
