I would like to say that my sister has a Pom and he is only 3 years old. She has had him to every vet around us and we live in VA. He would hack and wheez as well yet he has mucus come from his nose and he clinches his mouth shut trying to make it stop. He can feel it coming on cause he will start licking his nose alot before it all happens. Then he is very weak after the fits. They removed his palate and that didn't fix it. They claimed it was a reverse sneeze and now after a massive fit of this with yellow mucus and him falling over etc.. they are now saying he has asthma and most of the time only cats have asthma it is rare in dogs. Last night (May 15, 2004) we started him on two pills one being Prednisone 5mg and the other one I am not sure how to spell but it start with an A. He is so weak that he doesn't move at all and when he goes to pee he can barely keep his leg proped up. He walks extrememly slow now when he walks at all. However he tends to drink more then ever now since we started him on these pills and he has no appetite for anything and this doggy use to be food motivated. I only suggest that you all take time to find out what is really wrong with your loving animals because although we are treating my sister's Pom for asthma the vet said "ASSUMING THIS IS WHAT IT IS." If anyone can find a vet that does know FOR SURE what all these symptons are please let me know. Thank you all,
Sherlon in VA
