Thanks for your suggestions, I would have never given a duck as a gift either. My daughter got the duck from her great grandfather who lives on a farm and is very ill. He didn't ask first, and I was not going to take it away from my daughter The duck means a great deal to her and to him. As far as potty training, the duck is doing very well and will only go in one spot in the corner of the bathtub (I failed to mention that the tub is a very spacious tub in our extra bathroom and the duck has plenty of room). The duck also seems to enjoy playing follow the leader, it follows my daughter everywhere when she is "playing" with it. We have plenty of space for the duck, once it is big enough to fend for itself, it hatched only a few days before Easter, so we could not put it outside yet. I was not prepared to have a duck in the house, but Lucky has made a nice addition to our family and seems to be adjusting quite nicely. As for the cat, she is still not to sure about the duck, but does not bother it when it is out of the tub.
