oh no, she is not overly mature for her age. at the time we made the decision to go with contacts we discussed it with the dr. as well as our daughter. and like you said, rough and not washing hands were part of her life also. the only thing that i believe helped was our dr. showing her pictures of what happens to eyes that are not taken care of. we have used disposable contacts for 6 years and so far so good. she does not leave them in overnight....she prefers to give her eyes a rest after school. she is now almost 15 and has decided she wants colored contacts.....i think NOT.
