Ok mine is 14, but the clean your room battle has been going on since she was 5. My solution of late is to simply take a hefty steel sack and head to her room. If I don't believe it is useful or necessary to survive I throw it out. As for the clothes and other required items left on the floor....they become mine until I get around to returning them. This includes makeup, clothing, shoes, books, school papers, remote controls and even computer parts that she apparently thinks are ok to stick pictures and such to. I'm an evil mother according to Brittany after I clean her room. However, if she kept her things picked up and put away there would be no need for me to go in with the HAZMAT suit and take care of it.
Its amazing how quickly things are picked up now......
