My grandson also did that. I found that holding down his hands and telling him in a firm but soft voice that it was hands down time because he shouldn't pinch. He didn't like not having the use of his hands and the first few times tried to bite but he learned really fast that the minute he settled down and I would leave go and he could use his hands again. After a few times, the pinching and hitting started to decline and we would only have to say "Do you want hands down?" if he started to hit and he would stop the action. Hope this helps.
