: : My son has very poor judgment and reasoning skills. Acts ADHD and can be very impulsive and
angry. He on his neuro psch. test showed processing problems/short term memory loss and
has very unusual social skills. He seems to have
very little awareness to self and surroundings (apathy). He is unaware of the inaccuracy of his performance. A counselor told me it was like he
is locked in concrete. He is easily lead by
smarter people to do things that are wrong.
He did not talk very early. He walked fine, but
talked a couple words at a year and then no more
until he was about three. We were in a major car accident in l982 when he was 1 year old and then
at 18 months he was diagnosed with Reyes Syndrome.
He is 19 now and is still doing things that don't
make sense. Seems to no have any respect for authority. Still gives his money away. He is good in art and poor in reading. Isn't really
aware when he says something wrong when he is
reading or he skips a line and doesn't seem aware
that it does not make sense. He would eat things
off the ground and still imitates what he hears
or what he sees on TV, movies and videos. Acts
very young most of the time. Where can I get more information on Aspergers? I think this is
what he has and perhaps he is also ADHD. He could
not figure out for many years that zero was less than 25. He does not act retarded, but he acts
very different. People make fun of him he doesn't seem to understand what is going on.
How can we get help. Who diagnoses this?
