I make mine using 2 cups of liquid potpourri, 4 pouches of knox gel, and 1 tbs. vodka..
Bring 1 cup of potpourri to boiling and add the knox.. stir until dissolved and add the other cup of potpourri and the vodka.. pour it into the containers and let it set for a few hours. I don't even put mine in the fridge and they do just fine. I've never tried that salt recipe but thevodka works to prevent mold in the same way. I've also heard grapefruit seed extract works as well.
