: I am experimenting with Quilling/Paper Filigree on Mason Jar Lids. The paper design sits 1/8" above the lid. My concern is that the completed project will not hold up over time. Any suggestions on the best way to protect? Does anyone make a clear insert that would cover the design? Thanks for any advice...

I usually coat my paper strips with Mod-Podge before rolling and then again coat the finished piece. Don't know if this will help for something that will be handled frequently. I believe national art craft sells coasters that some people slide quilling under. Maybe the whole coaster could be somehow glued to the jar lid.
If you want to join the quillers list at e-groups.com their are about 200 people on the list and someone may be able to give you some better suggestions.
