Here's an idea that I have never tried but a friend of mine did, it looks really easy! You take the cheap metallic glass ornaments, (like the ones from the dollar store), then either use a stencil or free hand designs on them, stuff like snowflakes, holly, snowmen, or poinsettias. I thought that they looked beautiful, and she used mostly stencils so it was really simple, and they looked great! Hope this helps!
