I've done the same with old puzzle pieces. The colors are attractive no matter what the picture was. I've also spray painted lots of pieces green and some red. Cut the center out of a circle or cardboard leaving a few inches of cardboard. Randomly attach the green pieces for "Holly" and add red for the "berries."
