I had several of these monkey's and even elephants as a kid and they did have a red butt. Though it was surrounded by white. The heel or toe of the sock which was like a red eye with white around it was used for the butt as well as the mouth. The entire sock was white at the top, grey throughout most of the body and had the eye configuration on either or both the heel and toe.
