: : Does anyone have any salt dough recipes? My grandson needs to make a salt dough map for a school project. Thanks in advance!!!

: 2 level cups (8 ounce /225g) of wheat flour. 1 heaped cup(4 ounces/100g) of household salt. 3/4 cup ( 6fl ounces /150ml) of luke warm water.
: 1 table spoon of wallpaper paste
: 1 table spoon of oil.

: blend together the flour and salt and if necessary the paste pour on the water and oil.
: stir well in the bowl
: The dough will look crumbly and dry.
: Knead it steadily for 10 to 15 mins and you will have a dough that is supple and firm.

: BAKING AND DRYING.
: Bake in the oven using the lowest setting possible for 2 hours.
: check to see if done tap lightly with your finger. the sound should be hollow and even all over. try to push a needle through your craft this should not be possible the surface should be as hard as stone. put back in the oven if not cooked and check at regular intervalls.

: All the best Sharon

Is the wallpaper paste you mention the old fashioned dry kind or will the liquid wallpaper paste work?
