I was working at an Intermediate Care Centre-in the kitchen-and it was my break time. (This time it was VERY unusual- we all usually had our break at the same time and when I got to the break area-I was the only one there-no one was around anywhere) Really weird, but anyway, there I was all alone-and there was this newspaper on the table and I picked it up and for a laugh looked through the personal ads. I saw this one that made me laugh:

KING-SIZED COUCH POTATO LOOKING FOR QUEEN-SIZED COUCH TOMATO BETWEEN THE AGES OF 25-30-SNAP IF POSSIBLE.

Anyways, I decided to write this man-I had just gotten out of a bad relationship and it must have been subconsciously I thought that that I could be successful. He wrote me back and from that day I received his mail-(I looked up his number in the phone book and he came over)We have been together. I got his letter back November 6, 1986- We got married August 25, 1991. We have two wonderful girls. We are both Christians now and are still in love to this day. The Lord has truly blessed me-this man is funny, keeps me up when I am down and he is a great dad!

I was just 16 and I had a "big time" crush on a rock drummer named Danny. I asked anyone who knew Danny, to please introduce us. A mutual friend arranged it so that I could meet this guy at a band jam session. I spent most of the evening just gawking at Danny play the drums. I was oblivious to everything else!
A friend approached me. She too, thought the drummer was cute. "He is on the same bus I take to school but he does not even know that I exist!" she complained. "Danny?", I asked. "No, Randy" she replied and pointed to a guy sitting across the room.
At that moment, my crush on Danny ended. Randy had brown wavy hair, sparkling blue eyes and dimples! I was in love! He must have noticed me too. He walked over, we talked through the rest of the evening and then offered me a ride home in his friend's car. I accepted but was surprised later, to find out that Randy's friend, was in fact, Danny! Randy "arranged" to sit beside me, in the back seat, during the ride. Our fingers barely touched.
I called Randy the next day and I kept up the chase (he later told me that he wanted to be caught) until we were seeing each other daily. There was something special about Randy. I knew back then, that he was the man I would marry. We went on to date each other for six years, until we felt we were old enough to be married.
Randy and I have been married for 13 years now. We share two lovely children together When he smiles, his dimples still make my heart flutter. I am forever grateful to Danny. I never would have met the "other drummer" if it wasn't for my crush on Danny!

I met tom in south st.louis he ran the local dollar house theatre,The first meeting I had gone there looking for my daughter Brandi as she wasn't home on time. The next time I seen him I was struggling with heavey groceries carrying them home 2 miles from the grocery store and he stopped and asked me if I wanted a ride, I hesitantly took the ride but wouldn't allow him to drive me to my house instead I had him let me off in front of the theatre.( I later found out he rode his bike up and down the road by the houses where he thought I lived moving quickly by the actual house I did live in due to the 3 German Shepherds that barked as he passed by) The first time we actually spoke together was at a town meeting held at the theatre he ran in which they were trying to remove a local food pantry due to the fact it was ran by a black lady and I had gone there in protest of the action,I asked Tom his views and his response was he wasn't allowed to voice his opinion due to them hosting the meeting(I found out later he was opposed to the lady leaving as she provided lots of snacks to latch key children in the neighborhood as well as other kind services) The next real meeting was his show was playing a movie I wanted to see a southern war movie "Glory" I went every night and watched the movie "Glory" he would tour around the autotorium with his flashlight and finally sit down in the chair in front of me and lean back occasionally and talking over his shoulder make small talk I had to watch that movie 3 times but he finally got the nerve to ask me out, he took me to play pool with the kids that worked the theatre for him and then we went to hardees and sat all night talking and then he finally ask me out to a real date he took me to cahokia mounds a local Indian burial ground and museum. We were inseperable from that day on we were married in march on the anniversary of my fathers birthday and our wedding had a southern theme Tom dressed in confederate officer uniform and the brides maids were all in royal blue southern belle outfits the cake was topped with a Indian warrior and maiden wrapped in each others arms. we held our reception in the audatorium of the theatre. Tom and I have been married going on 9 years now I think :/ (tom would know cuz his memory is still functional) Tom is my best friend and I Love him more then can be verbly expressed!

I was just 18 and my best friend from where I worked in a supermarket said her boyfriend wanted to go to an all niter movie showing at a drive-in theatre several hours from where we lived and did I want to go? I said spose so. I did not know till a few hours before that she had set me up with her boyfriend's best friend....
The first impression I had of him was his smile...such a great smile...even in the dark of the movies I could see his smile... We hit it off so well, we joked and talked so much. It was as if our souls had 'clicked'!
Three weeks later, after dating every day and spending as much time as we could together, he asked me to marry him and I said 'yes!' We had our engagement party not long after that.....
In the mean time my girlfriend married her boyfriend, I was her bridesmaid and my soon to be dh was the best man....her marriage later on split up after 4 kids :( and I haven't seen her since..
Anyhow, David and I were married the following year 11th June 1977 and the day before I was married ( after my soon to be dh asked my Dad for my hand ) my Mum told me she thought I was too young to be getting married!! I told her it was too late for that now!!! And now 20 years and six children later I have not regretted it at all!! We have been through a lot together and I must admit we were pretty immature at first... But I love him dearly and would not change my 'blind date' for anything in the world...

I had been just going through a divorce with my ex-dh when I met Mark. I was out one night with all the girls from my Divorce Support Group. We had been through weeks of consoling each other and were at the point in which we wanted to break-out and have some fun! So we dressed up and went to a small bar in town. It seems like it was only a couple minutes after I sat down in my chair, when Mark came up from behind me and leaned on my table and said, "Do you have a husband or a boyfriend who is going to beat me up for talking to you?". Considering the group in which I was with, and the way my life was at that time, I thought that was just about the funniest thing I had ever heard and I said "NO". He was so tall (huge, actually) and handsome, we talked, and danced, and kissed until the bar closed, it was A LOT of fun! When we were leaving he gave me his pager number to call him if I wanted to go out to dinner some time, and I gave him my phone number. The next couple days I couldn't stop thinking about the great time we had together, and how when we were together that night it was like we were long lost friends getting together again. But, I had a very hard time thinking that I would go out with a guy I met in a bar! (My thinking was, if you didn't meet a man in church, you weren't meeting the right man, period.) When I came in from the beach with my son several days later, there was a message on my answering machine, it was Mark. Just the sound of his voice made me laugh, and I just felt so much like I knew this guy more then just one night. I paged him, we went out, and have never since then been apart since. That was almost six years ago, but it feels like 20 years ago, because I think I have known this man all my life, and I know I will be with him till the end of my life.

Mike was renting a house from my parents which was right next door to them. I was away at college, but I had come down to help my folks cut firewood for the winter. I had worked soooooooo hard all day loading the truck & pulling limbs out of the way as my brother & dad cut the wood. We pulled up at the house to unload the trucks and Mike walked over & started helping us unload. I kept expecting him to fling a stick of wood & kill someone because he wasn't watching what he was doing... he was watching ME! :) Okay, okay... I was watching him too! I figured if he was interested in me with me looking tired & ratty, he was worth looking back at!
This was in early October. I saw him a few more times when I was down at my mom's and even invited him up to have spaghetti with me (the only thing I knew how to cook). He didn't ask me out, though he always stared at me & practically drooled every time he saw me. I was beginning to think he was a little slow... BUT THEN...
In January I was down at my folks again & my dad called and invited Mike out to have supper because he never got any "home cooking". My grandmother said after that night, "If that boy don't ask you out soon, I'm gonna have your daddy shoot him and put him out of his misery!" *g*
Well, he did, FINALLY! Our first date was Friday, February 13, 1981. We went riding around and to the Sonic Drive-In for strawberry milkshakes. He still looks longingly at me, but over the years he's got his drooling under control... He still occasionally will show up at work and hand me a strawberry Sonic milkshake without saying anything, just grinning that little grin of his...
And this year we'll be celebrating our 17th Valentine's Day on OUR lucky day, Friday, February 13.
I love you Mike. :)

I was 22 and had decided that I was never going to meet Mr. Right. SO I started courses at the local college in management in order to further my career as I figured I was going to be supporting myself for a long time. I took a business finance course first as that was my weakest subject. The first night M. walked in and I LOOKED. By the third night of the class he was "helping" me as he could have taught the class and I was in great need of help!!!
Week four, I went to a psychic for the first time with a friend and she described M. exactly and predicted we would have a long and happy life together! (Shock!)
Week 6 he asked me out and I had to postpone as I had to meet with parents that night (I was teaching).
Week 7 asked me again and I came down with a flu bug. I called him and tried to cancel but he insisted that I come over ... OK!
Week 8, we pledged our love for each other! :) That first date was 20 years ago. October 29, 1977. That is the day we celebrate our anniversary, not the formal wedding date. That was the day it all began in our hearts.

Dan and I met when we were both students at the Univ. GA. He was a member of the debate society and we first met when the guy I was dating brought me to a meeting. I won't say it was love at first sight, but I did notice right away how cute Dan was :) Adam, the guy I was dating, was really interested in computers and Dan was the resident expert. Adam started inviting Dan along whenever we went out, I guess to pick his brain and talk about computers. It was fine with me, I was realizing that Adam was not at all my type, and having a 3rd party around broke the monotony. And, best of all, Dan was really fun! We hit it off right from the start and would talk for hours. Poor Adam hardly got a word in edgewise. Eventually I was able to break it off with Adam ( easier said than done, he was manic depressive and alternated between threatening to kill himself and being so psychotic many people were afraid he'd kill me) Dan was one of worry warts and refused to leave me alone, for fear that Adam would stalk and hurt me. Over the next month or so, whenever Adam popped out from around a corner, thankfully, I was not alone. Dan was vey specific when he would explain that we were NOT dating, we were just friends. he wasn't interested in getting "involved" at such a young age. We werent on a date, we were just friends out together at the same place :) It's just that we were just out together about every night, and when we werent out, he was at my place, watching tv and 'keeping an eye on me' to keep me safe. After several months I couldn't stand it anymore and one day in the car blurted out "I love you" He looked a little shocked and said "um, thanks?" I figured it was hopeless, he didn't want anything serious so started to keep my eyes open for other interested parties. Then my grandmother died. I had to go to Boston for a week and asked Dan to feed my cats. After the funeral was over and things had settled down I called my house to check my answering machine. Among my messages was a long, sad memo from Dan telling me how much he missed me and how he was sleeping at my apartment, because it smelled like me, and...that he loved me :) The rest of the week, visiting family after the funeral, I was the only one with a big 'cat ate the canary' smile. All of that was almost 10 years ago! I still tease him, now 2.5 babies later, about how he was just NOT going to get involved :)
