: I am a mother of 4 boys (hence the nick) and I have to agree that you should not persue this relationship. I would not want my 23yo son dating a 16 yo girl.

Ok, I can understand the view point of not wanting a daughter to date a guy older then herself... but I don't understand why you don't think your sons should date younger then themselves ?

: 6 years is not a big difference if you are 23 and 29 but it is a big difference when you are 16 & 23. She is still a child and you are an adult. Wait 3 years and go back and see if she is available.

I don't agree that she's a child.... she doesn't have her life path choose (but then nither do I), but she has showen herself to be mature, holds a part-time job which she achived a raise in because she has worked hard at it & is extremely sure of herself (opposite of me... I emberass easy, one of the reasons I like her).

As for waiting.... if I do that I'll probably just loose contact with her... very few of my friendships with people survive any major changes unless they're exceptionally strong & in 3 years a lot can change. I guess that's one point in waiting, but it's also the same reason not to wait....
