I have a 17 year old daughter, who has made it a habit to run away to a shelter every time she is annoyed, reprimanded etcetera. (She will only return home if we provide her with stray cat she found at the shelter.) The last time she ran away, because she was angry with me for not "disciplining" her 10 year old brother to her satisfaction. (The time before that was because she had skipped 14 days of school, and when we sat down to review the house rules on attending classes and handing in assignments, she took off for 3 months. She loves the shelter, because it is a house of teens and they are "way cool". I have pretty much given up any hope for her. I feel that I have lost a child.
