No, but I had a thumb sucker which I figure is pretty much the same thing. He sucked his thumb all the way through 1st grade. The pacifier is probably better than the thumb as long as you switch them when they get old. After the rubber part (or whatever it is made of) cracks or gets sticky you need to replace it or it becomes a choking hazard.
