  • How to post on the boards
Either click on POST MESSAGE at the top, or scroll down to the bottom of the page until you come to the "Post a Message!" part.

Fill in your name (or a nickname if you'd rather) and your e-mail address (not manditory, but can be helpful if someone wants to email you rather then reply to your post on the board). If you are making a new post to a board, the "subject" line will be empty and you will need to fill in a brief description.

    Responding to a post
Click on the message you want to respond too. There will be an area for you to respond to that post toward the bottom of the page called: Post a Followup
This is where you will type your message to respond to the post.
If you are posting as a response to an existing post, the "subject" line will already say "RE:... something". You may leave it like that or put in a new "subject" line.
The "message" box will already contain the entire message to which you are responding. You may either type in your response before or after the message, or delete the existing message by highlighting the text and click delete on your keyboard

    What is "Optional Link URL?"
The "Optional Link URL" line is where you may type in the URL (address) of your personal web page if you want to. This is not manditory. Be sure to include the ENTIRE URL, including the http://
Example: http://www.thefunplace.com/fence/faq.html would direct the person to this FAQ page.

The "Link Title" box is where you can type in the name of the page that you just linked to - The title BULLETIN BOARDS FAQ is the name of the page that referes to the http that is entered in the "Optional Link URL" above. If you don't type in a name, the http will just be shown as the full http.

How do I post a picture?
The "Optional Image URL" is where you may type in the URL (http-address) of an image that you want to appear with your post. The image must already be uploaded on the internet somewhere; do not put the path to an image on the hard drive of your computer as it will not work. Be sure to include the http:// . Lets say you have a homepage, there's a picture of your kids on it and you want to post it on the board, just type in your homepage URL and the name of the graphic like this:
    http://www.thefunplace.com/whatever.gif
As long as the picture is someplace on the internet and you have the http and name of the image it will work.

When finished entering all your info you just click on the "post message" button. You may need to refresh/reload the page in order to see your post.

If at any time you wish to have your post removed from the board, just email webmaster@thefunplace.com and write the subject of your post.

Please remember that this is a family site; any offensive posts will be deleted immediately. Also, we do not allow any advertising within the posts.

Can I put html tags anywhere in my posts?
Yes! You can use html tags in the message part of your post, not in the subject line.

Why didn't my post show up? Your post most likely did not show up, because your browser did not reload the page, it simply pulled it out of cache. Please reload your browser and it should appear.

Where can I get the scripts for this program?
The scripts are written in Perl and created by Matt Wright.
They are free to anyone who wishes to use them and you can get them as well as other scripts at: http://worldwidemart.com/scripts/. Enjoy!
