I found this on another site and thought it was cute!!
Put some of those red hot heart shaped candies in a zip lock bag and give with this poem attached:

I couldn't send you flowers, and candy wouldn't do.
And mushy cards just didn't say the things I want them to.
So I got you something special, and here's the inside scoop.
I found you something very rare---It's genuine Cupid poop!!

Here is what you will need:

More Art FUN:
Create mobiles for other holidays such as Halloween and Thanksgiving, or theme mobiles such as the seashore, jungle animals, or dinosaurs.
Many people put an "X" on a letter to mean kisses and an "O" to mean hugs - like this: XOXOXO, or XXXX, or OOOO. Talk about why you think this custom began. Make a pattern of X's and O's to decorate a card, or have children create their own symbol for a wo

some more idea borrowed mostly from Donna Erickson

Make a family valentine box. Decorate and old shoe box with pink paper, stickers, doilies, etc. Tie a pen or pencil to it and leave a small note pad nearby. Then, when you have a happy though, jot down a little note to a family member. Then, at family dinner, open the box and share the notes you all recieve.
(I like this idea even for year round, like a gratitude box. Plop in a note about something nice, or someone who helped you, or something someone did that made you happy. Then weekly, share them at a family meal)

Use heart shaped cookie cutters to make heart shaped biscuits, cookie, sandwiches, etc

Use old scraps of fabric, cut into hearts, and glue or stich onto a plain card to make cute, handmade and recycled valentines!

Or, mix a small amount of milk with food coloring, let kids 'paint' on a slice of white bread, then toast for yummy, edible and handmade valentine.

A cute idea I read in a magazine - take a small box of "Sweethearts" conversation hearts - when empty place a picture of your "Sweetheart" in the box - tape to inside of box to prevent moving around. Glue a small magnet on the back and you have your "sweethearts" on the refrigerator. I made these for grandparents and they loved them.
