Actually, I sew a Christmasy (or any fabric, really) into a "kite shape" on 3 sides (about 4 inches tall & 1 & 1/2 inches wide). Then I stuff it with fiberfill & sew up the last side.
Then i cut out a little square of pink fabric & hotglue it to the front for a face. I then cut up an ole possum fur (mallmom sent me a real possum fur collar!!) into roughly a triangular shape & glue it at the bottom of the face. I have also used that curly wool stuff that you can buy in craft stores for this. This is glued below the face. A twist of the fur or the curly stuff just above the beard becomes a long mustache. Use a tiny bite more of the fur or the curly wool to make the hair on the side of his face (kind of covers up the edges of the pink fabric). Then cut a small (teeny weeny piece of a contrasting fur collar) and hot glue above the face for the brim of his hat. The top of the kite shape makes the peak of his hat. You can tie a little ribbon on the top, add a button, a pompom, whatever... I also hotglue on a hanger of jute or sometimes GOLD cord.
That's it.. oh, you need to take an extra-fine sharpie marker & put on 2 little bitty dots for his eyes.

I make beautiful Christmas ornaments that also smell wonderful. I fill clear glass ornaments with potpourri and tie a coordinating ribbon bow around the neck. It is very "country" and quite pretty. You can now buy clear ornaments, but if you have old colored ones that you'd like to convert, here's how I did mine: Remove the metal collar and clip and place the balls in bleach for several hours. After soaking, wash in warm water. A q-tip can be used to clean any remaining spots.
You can be creative with this idea and create ornaments related to interests. I made some with birdseed (not too much, it's heavy) and glued mushroom birds near the ornament neck on near the bow.
You could also fill the ornament with that irridesent "grass" or confetti. Many possibilities. If you come up with other ideas, let me know. These make great personalized gifts if you make them around someone's interests.

Another easy idea: Using only two or three of your favorite colors in METALIC craft paint, squeese a little of each of these colors inside each clear glass ball. Swirl around slowly until inside each ball is covered. Turn upside down, and let sit in little disposable drinking cups to drain. (What drains out, can be used again until it gets too "muddy".)
Let your ball continue to dry upside down. It will look marbalized, and you can decorate the top with a bow, or small floral pieces and a ribbon.

Ingredients:
1/2 cup cinnamon
1/2 cup store bought applesauce
(homemade is too watery)
Directions:
Stir together cinnamon and applesauce with a spoon until the dough becomes stiff, then use your hands to create a ball of dough.
Place the ball of dough on a sheet of waxed paper, flatten slightly with y9ur fingers.
Place a second sheet of waxed papper over the top of the dough and roll out dough to about 1/8 inch thick.
Use cookie cutters or your own template shapes.
Air dry creation on a waxed paper- covered cookie sheet or a cooling rack for at least 24 hours until they are completely hard.Zaidas' two cents: I did this project with my toddlers and they LOVED it! They make cute ornaments to hang on the gifts to friends.... oh yes... they smell great too!

I used the glitter glue sticks to decorate solid glass christmas bulbs one year. They turned out breath-taking!
All I did was draw designs on the glass ... the glitter looked wonderful with the lights.
