BATH SALTS

Simply, choose a essential oil (they have ones for relaxation, tranquility, uplifting and invigorating, etc.) and drop a few drops into a large bowl -- say 5 - 10 depending on the oil. Add several drops of food colouring. Then add about ten drops of a really good moisturing oil (I use JOJOBA OIL). Mix gently then begin to add the main ingredient -- Epsom Salts!! That's it!! Just add the salts slowly and keep mixing until you have as much as you want.

After you have made it you'll wonder how you lived without it. I add Rosewood Oil for a rosy but earthy smell but you can sample the oils just about anywhere now. My corner drug store has dozens!!

ENJOY

You can use ivory soap flakes (or ivory powder) mixed with a few drops of food coloring and a few spoonfulls of water, to make a clay like consistencey ball. Let the kids mold them with their hands, or with play dough molds and tools. Then, set aside to dry for a few days and Viola, their own little soaps!

Or, buy a few bars of clear or lightly colored glycerin soap. Give the kids form acrylic paints and let the paint their own designs on the top of the soap. Allow to dry or a while, then have an adult put a few coats of plain, melted paraffin wax over the paint. It will dry clear if you only put a small amount and it will not wash off so the design will stay and the soap will get sudsy on the other side!

Why is it a kid will fight tooth and nail that they dont need a bath, until they have their own soaps to play with and then you cant get them OUT of the tub!

Heres a site full of powders, oils, aftershave, fizzing baths, etc. If you use it in the bathroom, it's probably here to make.

Good luck.

Bath jelly

1/2 cup water
1 packet unflavored gelatin
1/2 cup bubble bath or liquid soap
food coloring (opt)

Heat the water until boiling and dissolve the gelatin in it. Add the bubble bath or soap very slowly and do not beat because it may become foamy. Stir gently and blend. Pour the mixture in a container with a lid. For children you can drop in a small toy or maybe seashells. Put in the refrid to gel.
To use: place a small amount of jelly under tap water or use as a shower gel.
